I'm from Australia and we, like the rest of the world, are following this election very closely. In fact, even the local glossy fashion magazines have run stories on the US election. We don't really understand the appeal of Palin over here. Our religious right doesn't have the clout that the US religious right does. I think it has to do with the fact voting is compulsory here in Australia. We get fined if we don't vote. Then if we don't vote the next time around, we get fined even more and so on.
